Don't just take our word for it
“I have known Joelle during my pre- and post-lung transplant journey. Her knowledge, empathy, and advice has literally been life saving for me. Throughout the years I observed many other patients being comforted, befriended, and counseled on positive lifestyle changes to address their illnesses in a kind, professional manner.”

It's nice to meet you
Hello! I'm Joelle Hochman, RRT, and I've served as a Registered Respiratory Therapist for over a dozen years.
I’ve helped thousands of people living with pulmonary and other health conditions take control of their breathing, and their lives. I center my care around building personal connections with my clients, so that they feel they are no longer alone in their healing process.
My passion in life is to help people breathe more easily, reduce symptoms, eat healthier, control stress, gain strength and endurance, improve their quality of life, and learn new tools to get back to doing the things they love.
In addition to 1:1 client care, I’ve spent years working with world-renowned institutions such as Brigham and Women's Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital, while practicing in specialties ranging from critical care (ICU) to pulmonary rehabilitation.
Prior to my work as a Respiratory Therapist, I had a 20 year massage therapy practice, as well as a health food catering business. Since 1990 I’ve been leading support groups, classes & workshops on the art of listening to people — whether they share many things in common — or none. Over the years, I have found that combining Pulmonary Health Coaching, along with focusing on positive lifestyle choices, has given my clients a more holistic approach to improving their breathing, as well as their overall quality of life.
In addition to my passion for helping others, I rely on Pulmonary Health Coaching in my own life. Having a rare blood disorder (Protein S Deficiency) and surviving a pulmonary embolism after the birth of my daughter, I truly & personally understand the struggles of people living with breathing difficulties. I am also proud to hold the Patient Engagement chair on the board of directors for the North American Thrombosis Forum, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by blood clots and related diseases.
If you’re ready to start your journey to breathing better, I’d love to meet you!
- Joelle Hochman, RRT
